Men United for Excellence (MUE) is a mentoring group for African American males to build a framework of community support, networking and brotherhood.
Men United for Excellence is an African-American male mentoring program at Shenandoah. The program is designed to address the retention risks of African-American males in higher education. African-American male college completion rates are the lowest of all genders and races in the US. By targeting concerns specific to African-American males, Men United for Excellence strives to increase persistence to graduation while helping students develop the skills and connections necessary for post-graduation success.
Men United for Excellence educates and mentors individuals to be united towards excellence in education, economics, ethical decision-making, leadership, and philanthropy.

My favorite part about Men United for Excellence is that it gives me the feeling that I’m apart of something significant. Other students should be involved too because it’s the experience of a lifetime!”
